General Motors (GM), traditionally known for its cars and trucks, has been sparking curiosity with some unusual new projects.

After filing a patent for an electric motorcycle, information has now emerged that the company may also be developing a UTV (utility task vehicle, side-by-side style).

The discovery came from the site UTV Driver, which found a GM patent with drawings that clearly indicate this type of vehicle, with a futuristic and aggressive look similar to sporty models from Polaris, Can-Am, and Honda.

The patent describes the vehicle as a “Vehicle, Toy Replica and/or Other Replica,” which may indicate a strategy to protect the design for future releases or licensed products, like Hot Wheels miniatures.

The document, however, does not include technical details about the engine, suspension, or interior, and does not even show the tires. Interestingly, the style looks more like a sci-fi concept than something we would currently see on off-road trails.

The patent holder is Logan Phillips, a former GM designer who has worked at Tesla, Fiat Chrysler, and now SpaceX.

Although the patent was filed two years ago, nothing concrete has been revealed since then. GM did have a partnership with Volcon, but the project was discontinued. It remains uncertain whether this UTV will reach the market, but the possibility raises expectations, especially among enthusiasts who imagine the model equipped with powerful engines like the V8 from the Corvette Z06.
